Camp Scholarships

Families are invited to apply for a 2027 Listen CI Camp Scholarship. Applications for the 2027 Listen CI Camp sessions are available through November 15, 2026.

Listen CI Camp offers two forms of scholarships, The Financial Assistance Scholarships and the Nile Kron Memorial Scholarship.  A single application is used for both.

The Financial Assistance Scholarships are primarily need based, partial camp scholarships.  They are available for a limited number of families who cannot otherwise afford to attend camp.  Awards and the number of families chosen varies from year to year based on fundraising.

The Nile Kron Memorial Scholarship covers the full cost of camp for one family whose CI child has diagnosed medical complexities in addition to hearing loss.  If you apply for and do not receive the Nile Kron Memorial Scholarship, you will automatically be considered for one of our Financial Assistance Scholarships.

Family members eligible to attend camp include the CI child(ren) ages 3-18, along with the parents/legal guardians, and siblings up to 18 years of age.  Rooms are limited to 5 family members, regardless of age.  (No grandparents, cousins, friends, or children outside the age range.)

The process to apply for and receive financial aid reservations is a separate process from the typical camp registration system

Camp sessions are based on the age of the child(ren) who uses a cochlear implant:

  • June 24-27, 2027       CI Recipients Entering 4th Grade in Fall 2027 through 2027 High School Graduates
  • July 22-25, 2027      CI Recipients Age 3 through Entering 3rd Grade in Fall 2027

The Scholarship Application allows you to indicate the age-appropriate camp for your CI child.  References are requested.  The Financial Assistance Scholarship requires proof of financial need (e.g. participation in Free & Reduced lunch programs, Medicaid insurance coverage, Listen Foundation or other therapy funding, etc.).  The Nile Kron Memorial Scholarship requires documentation of diagnosed medical complexities in addition to hearing loss.  Scholarship applications are due November 15, 2026.

A scholarship committee will review applications and choose award recipients.  All applicants will be notified of their scholarship status by December 18, 2026.  Those awarded scholarships will then receive further instructions on securing camp registration and making the agreed upon deposit, if applicable.  Award amounts and number of families chosen varies annually based on funds raised.  To help as many families as possible, we hope to include different families from year-to-year.

Any available scholarship funds that are unfulfilled may be applied for on a rolling basis.  If the scholarship deadline has passed, please contact the Camp Director before applying.

4-Step Scholarship Application Process

Step 1:  Complete the Application:

  • Please use the link below and select the 2027 Listen CI Camp Scholarship Application.
  • Log into your camp account or create an account if you do not already have one.
  • Add all family members who will attend by selecting “+A New Person” on the Select Attendees page then select each family member who will attend by clicking on the checkbox next to their name.
  • Confirm that ALL demographic information for EVERY FAMILY MEMBER who will attend camp is COMPLETE and ACCURATE.
  • Complete and Sign the Listen CI Camp Scholarship Application form.  Be sure to select “Next” after signing.  After a momentary delay, this will take you to the My Account page.

Step 2:  Prepare Financial Documents for Upload:

  • Documents must be combined into a single (1) PDF for upload. Maximum file size is 50 KB. Multiple, free pdf combine and compress tools are available online. We frequently use combinepdf.com.
  • Ensure that your CI child’s first and last name are at the top of the first page of your PDF before uploading to UltraCamp.
  • Cover all but the last 4 digits of social security numbers prior to creating PDF.

Step 3:  Upload Financial Documents:

  • Log into your UltraCamp account.
  • Click the menu icon ( pastedGraphic.png the three horizontal lines) in the upper left corner of the screen. (Note: Depending on the layout, this may also be under an “Additional Options” menu.)
  • Select Document Center from the menu and the Upload Document link.
  • Select Scholarship Application Documentation.
  • Select Browse and choose the PDF document from your computer.  Select Open.  Click Upload Document.   You will see The Action Was Completed Successfully in a green bar near the top of your screen.
  • Upload of additional documents will automatically delete the previous document uploaded.

Step 4:  Confirm Legible Upload:

  • Parts of documents are occasionally illegible or cut off during the upload process.  We Strongly Recommend that You Confirm Legible Document Upload.
  • Select Document Center (using the three horizontal menu bars at the top of your UltraCamp page).
  • Scroll down and select Scholarship Application Documentation.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the chosen page and select the ‘download arrow’ on the right bottom corner of the page.  This will download the document you uploaded for viewing.  Please confirm the uploaded document is complete and legible.

Please note:  The My Account page will show “1 Incomplete Tasks” until the Listen Foundation has processed your documents and the Message Center page shows the date you applied as the due date for document uploads.  This is incorrect.
