May is Better Speech & Hearing Month

May is a time to recognize the power of communication and the role it plays in a child’s life. During National Speech-Language-Hearing Month, we are reminded that something as simple as communication can change everything for a child.

Meet Lily!

This month, we are sharing the story of a remarkable 12-year-old named Lily. Lily loves theater, skiing, reading, and spending time with her friends. She is bright, confident, and full of personality; but her journey has not been without challenges.

At just two years old, Lily was diagnosed with hearing loss. In that moment, her family was faced with uncertainty and important questions about her future.

What happened next is what this month is all about.

With the right support, Lily didn’t just learn to hear sounds; she learned to communicate with confidence, build meaningful relationships, and fully participate in the world around her.

Today, Lily is thriving. She has her voice, her confidence, and a keen sense of who she is becoming.

“The Listen Foundation had a significant impact on Lily’s life and our family life. By giving the gift of spoken language, she can be a hearing kid in school, with friends and at home.”

Support Lily’s Story—And More Like Hers

This May, we invite you to take part in the Listen Foundation nonevent fundraiser in honor of Better Speech & Hearing Month.

There is no gala, no ticket, and no formal event. Just an opportunity to support children like Lily and the life-changing work of listening and spoken language therapy.

Your gift helps sustain the overall operations of the Listen Foundation, ensuring children receive the early support they need to develop listening skills, spoken language, confidence, and connection.
