The Listen Foundation hosted two fabulous cochlear implant family camps this summer, serving a total of 260 individuals.  These were the first full-capacity camps since the COVID-19 pandemic and the families were overjoyed to unite with others “like them”!  Campers represented 28 states and 55% of the families were first time participants.  There is nothing quite like the expression of a child walking into the lobby and seeing others who use cochlear implants for the first time.  It is a powerful experience that leads to increased self-confidence and improved advocacy skills resulting in better social-emotional, educational, and language outcomes.

“My son said, “I’ve finally found my people.”  This camp was filled with love and joy.  We will be back and can’t thank you enough for the joy you have given our family.”
