Welcome to the Listen Foundation Website!
We are the Listen Foundation, a dynamic non-profit that helps Colorado families with deaf or hard-of-hearing children realize their dreams. With our help, these children learn to listen and talk, and so can go on to attend regular classes, interact fully with hearing friends, teachers, and family, and so realize their full potential.
On this site you can find out about Listen’s mission, its programs, its people and its whereabouts.
You can make a contribution, either by volunteering to help us, or making a donation.
You can read the latest news, our blog, our newsletters, and our list of supporters.
And you can listen and watch our stunning video!

Listen Offers Super Summer Support Program!
Wouldn’t it be great if your child’s listening ability, speech development and vocabulary expanded over the summer? Or, how about taking your child’s reading ability to the next level?
The Listen Foundation offers a summer bridge program to help school aged children continue their speech and language progress over the summer months. Therapy costs are covered by many insurance companies and Medicaid. Listen Foundation will also offer scholarships for those families who qualify for financial support.
The Summer Support Program includes 10 weekly individual sessions (parent & child) for pre-school and school aged kids who are deaf or hard of hearing. These therapy sessions are individual and customized for each child. They are family-focussed – and fun!
Space is limited so act now to ensure a spot for your child! Call (303 781 9440) or email at the Listen office today for more information and to register. Summer is a-cummin’!

Listen Welcomes Our Newest Therapist!

The Listen Foundation is excited to announce a wonderful addition to our team of Auditory Verbal therapists that belong to our Referal Network. Krissa Britsch is a certified speech language pathologist and certified auditory verbal therapist. She graduated from Oklahoma State in 2007 with a master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. It was during a graduate internship at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL that she developed an interest in working with children affected by hearing loss. Krissa pursued a job in this field which eventually led her to Hearts for Hearing in Oklahoma City. She worked in Oklahoma City and at their Tulsa satellite for 3 years where she was mentored and trained by experts in the field of auditory verbal therapy. It was during her time at Hearts for Hearing that her interest developed into a passion for working with families and children affected by hearing loss who want their children to listen and talk and participate in mainstream classrooms. In addition to individualized therapy, Krissa enjoyed teaching Listening for Littles, the parent-toddler group, and assisting in the Hearts for Hearing preschool. Krissa became certified as an auditory verbal therapist in October 2010.
In September 2011, Krissa and her husband, Justin, relocated to the Denver area and now live in Berkley, just east of Arvada. Although it was hard to leave family, friends and the children she served in Tulsa, she is looking forward to new friendships and adventures in Colorado, as well as new opportunities to help families! Welcome to the neighborhood, Krissa!

Setting Up a Monthly Donation

So you know you meant to give a donation last week, but you forgot to send your check. Did you know there’s an easy way to help you remember, saves time, postage and the hassle of writing a check?
Now, through Community First Foundation and GivingFirst.com you can make a recurring donation that’s not only safe, but is also a way to spread out your donation over time. It’s quick, easy to set up and is a reliable means of making your next donation to the Listen Foundation.
A recurring donation is when a donor authorizes Community First Foundation, through GivingFirst, to make a donation for a specified amount, at regular intervals, against a specific credit card or bank account, and to specified organizations like the Listen Foundation.
There are no costs associated with setting up a recurring donation. Donors can set up daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual recurring donations. For example, a monthly donation of $20 adds up to a generous gift of $240 over the course of the year. It is not only convenient, but it manages your giving on an ongoing basis.
So set up your recurring donation to the Listen Foundation today and check that “TO DO” item off your list! Simply CLICK HERE, hit the Donate Now button, fill in a very short form, and presto, it’s done!
